Construction Site Foreman

You run the daily plan on site: you split the crews between formwork, reinforcement and blockwork, order concrete and materials a day ahead, and check that what arrives matches the delivery note. You read the structural drawing with the site engineer, set out axes and levels with a rotating laser, and refuse a pour when the reinforcement or the props are not right. Each evening you write the site diary, record hours per man and mark what blocks tomorrow. You hold the toolbox talk on Monday and you are the one the inspector speaks to.

Finished construction trade school or a college degree in civil engineering

At least five years on site, of which two leading a crew

Reading structural and reinforcement drawings without help

Setting out with a rotating laser and a total station

Category B licence, since the site changes twice a year

The contractor runs three coastal sites and moves foremen who deliver on schedule into the site manager seat. The safety coordinator licence and the surveying course are paid, and both are needed for that step.

An open site on a slope above the town, hot and exposed from June to September, with a container office, a shaded break area and drinking water on every floor. Helmet, vest and safety boots are worn from the gate.
