Regional Truck Driver

You drive a 40 tonne tractor unit with a curtainsider trailer on set routes to Zagreb, Slavonski Brod and Belgrade. Before every departure you walk around the vehicle, check tyres, lights, load securing and the tachograph card, and you sign the check sheet. At the border you hand over the CMR, the customs papers and the delivery notes, and you call the dispatcher when a queue runs long. Loading and unloading are done by the warehouse, but you secure the load with straps and corner boards yourself. Rest times are planned into the route.

Category CE licence and a valid driver qualification card

At least five years driving a tractor and trailer

A driver who knows the customs paperwork well can move to the international routes towards Slovenia and Italy, where the daily allowance is higher. The employer pays for the ADR course.

The day is spent in the cab and on loading ramps at customs terminals and shop yards. A high visibility jacket, gloves and safety shoes are worn at every ramp and are issued by the employer.
